About this position
Postdoctoral Position: Addressing the mechanical evolution of colorectal cancer
The Tumor Dynamics and Plasticity group at Institut Gustave Roussy (Villejuif, Paris) is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to join a newly established, multidisciplinary team led by Carlos Pérez-González. The lab is focused on understanding how mechanochemical signals regulate tumor cell state patterning and how these mechanisms contribute to tumor progression and clinical outcome.
This project sits at the interface of biology, physics, and computational analysis. The successful candidate will work on bridging tissue mechanics and transcriptomics, developing pipelines that integrate organoid force measurements with spatial omics approaches. The broader research environment combines mechanobiology, quantitative imaging, and transcriptomics in organoids and tumors, with access to patient-derived organoids, clinical samples, and oncology expertise.
The position is especially suitable for applicants with a background in quantitative biology or bioinformatics. Experience in image analysis, cell segmentation, tracking, morphometry analysis, spatial transcriptomics, and single-cell sequencing will be highly relevant. A strong interest in both wet-lab and dry-lab research is welcome, although wet-lab experience is not required.
Institut Gustave Roussy is located within the largest cancer hospital in Europe, offering a strong translational research setting and close exposure to clinically relevant cancer biology. The team emphasizes collaboration, intellectual rigor, creativity, and a supportive, inclusive research culture.
This is a full-time temporary postdoctoral position funded via a recent ERC Starting Grant under Horizon Europe. The application deadline is 15 November 2026 at 23:59 (Europe/Paris). Applications should be sent by email and include a motivation letter, CV, and contact details for referees.
