About this position
Université de Lorraine is offering an 18-month postdoctoral position within the GlycoMiR project, supported by the B4B (Biomolecules for the Bioeconomy) program. The project brings together researchers from IMoPA (Molecular Engineering and Physiopathology Laboratory), LIBio (Biomolecule Engineering Laboratory) in Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy, and the CRI (Inflammation Research Center) in Paris.
The research focuses on valorizing functional biomolecules derived from milk and dairy industry by-products, with particular attention to microRNAs and glycoproteins for infant nutrition applications. The successful candidate will work on analytical methods for compositional analysis and characterization of dairy glycoproteins, sample preparation for LC-MS/MS, chromatography, and related biochemical investigations.
The role also includes developing and optimizing electrostatic spray-drying approaches to reduce miRNA degradation, performing powder characterization analyses, and conducting bioinformatics analyses of non-coding RNAs using tools such as NCBI, UCSC Genome Browser, sequence alignment software, and qPCR-based miRNA identification. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to technical reporting, dissemination, project meetings, and day-to-day collaborative laboratory work in a multidisciplinary environment.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology. Experience or strong knowledge in Food Science and Food Technology, especially in the dairy sector, is highly desirable. The position calls for experience with biochemical analytical and separation techniques, molecular biology methods, bioinformatics, and excellent French communication skills. The host laboratory is LIBio at 2 Avenue de la Forêt de Haye, 54505 Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy, France.
The contract starts on 1 September 2026, with flexibility up to 1 November 2026. Gross salary will depend on qualifications and experience. Applications should be submitted by 14 September 2026, and consist of a CV and cover letter sent to the project coordinators.
