About this position

This is a postdoctoral opening for a highly motivated scientist with a PhD in Natural Sciences, ideally Biology, Ecology, Primatology, or a related field. Strong skills in R, SQL, relational databases, large dataset handling, and statistical analysis are important. Experience with observational animal behavior data, survey data, remote sensing, and manuscript writing/publishing is requested. Excellent English is required; French is a plus.
The position is 100% and offered for 2 years with the possibility of extension. Salary follows TVöD-Bund. Remote work is possible after an initial on-site phase.

What's required
PhD in Natural Sciences, ideally Biology, Ecology, Primatology, or a related field. Applicants should have proficiency in R; experience with relational databases, SQL, and MS Access is an advantage; experience handling and processing large datasets; analytical skills in frequentist and Bayesian frameworks; experience with observational animal behavior data including focal and party follow and ad libitum data; experience with survey data (CT, PAM, Telemetry); experience in remote sensing; strong organization, reliability, attention to detail, independence, problem-solving, and excellent English communication skills. French is a plus. Experience writing and publishing manuscripts, including first-author papers, is expected.
