About this position
Tokyo University of Agriculture is recruiting for postdoctoral researcher or research/educational assistant equivalent positions at the Center for Bioresource Genome Analysis in Tokyo, Japan. The center conducts research and support using next-generation sequencers (NGS), including Illumina and Nanopore platforms, and collaborates with researchers inside and outside the university.
The position focuses on genome biology, genetics, ecology/environmental science, and mathematical informatics. Main duties include experimental design, NGS data analysis, technology development in collaborative projects, center operations, outreach, and possibly sample preparation and sequencer operation. Individual research opportunities may also be discussed.
Eligibility depends on the role: postdoctoral applicants should hold, or be expected to hold, a doctoral degree in biological genetic information analysis or a related field; academic researcher applicants should hold a master's degree in the same or a closely related field. Experience in NGS analysis is desirable, but candidates with strong backgrounds in genetics, statistics, or informatics and motivation to engage in NGS-based research and development are also encouraged to apply.
