About this position

Postdoctoral position in CIRCULARIS: Consumer Engagement and Behavioural Change in Food Services at Aarhus University, Denmark, within the Department of Management at Aarhus BSS and the MAPP research centre.

This 30-month postdoc is part of the Horizon Europe-funded CIRCULARIS project, which studies circular economy transitions in food services. The role focuses on consumer behaviour, survey methodology, behavioural change, sustainability, and circular economy engagement. The project combines indicator development, digital and AI-enabled monitoring, citizen science, co-creation, and evaluation of consumer engagement pathways across pilot sites in Greece, Italy, and Cyprus.

The successful candidate will conduct a systematic literature review and a cross-country quantitative survey, contribute to citizen science and co-creation workshops, support community-based rating systems, and lead evaluation using COM-B and the Behaviour Change Wheel. The work also involves collaboration with technical partners, pilot coordinators, and consortium members, plus dissemination through reports, workshops, conferences, and peer-reviewed publications.

Applicants should hold a PhD in marketing, consumer behaviour, psychology, behavioural economics, environmental psychology, or a related field. Strong quantitative and statistical analysis skills are expected, along with experience in survey research; familiarity with behaviour change frameworks is preferred. English proficiency is required, and Danish is not necessary.

Funding includes a 30-month postdoctoral appointment with an earmarked budget for training, travel, and conference participation. The deadline is 30 September 2026. Applications must be submitted online through Aarhus University’s recruitment system, with CV, degree documents, publication list, up to three publications, and a teaching portfolio.
