About this position

Technical University of Munich (TUM), Chair of Circular Economy and Sustainability Assessment at the TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability, is recruiting a Research Assistant / PhD Candidate (m/f/d) focused on circular economy and sustainable innovation processes.

The position is designed for interdisciplinary, application-oriented research on the design and implementation of circular innovation processes in close collaboration with industrial companies. The research agenda includes circular economy, sustainability assessment, innovation management, transformation research, sustainable business models, and the development of practical tools, methods, and indicator systems.

Applicants should hold a very good Master's degree in industrial engineering, business administration, sustainability management, or a related field. The post also asks for analytical thinking, a structured and solution-oriented approach, motivation for independent scientific work in international and interdisciplinary teams, creativity, initiative, and commitment. Prior knowledge in circular economy, innovation management and transformation processes, sustainable business models, or sustainability assessment is desirable. Fluent German and excellent written and spoken English are required.

The role is full-time and paid according to TV-L E13. A doctorate is available and encouraged. The position starts as soon as possible, is initially temporary, and an extension is intended. Work location is Straubing, with some flexibility.
