About this position
Postdoctoral position in HIV latency and virus-host interactions at Institut Cochin in Paris, France, jointly affiliated with Inserm, CNRS, and Université Paris Cité. The project is supported by ANRS-MIE and focuses on the molecular mechanisms that allow replication-competent but transcriptionally silent HIV-1 to persist in latently infected cells.
The research aims to understand how cellular factors controlling premature transcription termination enforce transcriptional silencing of HIV. The work combines molecular biology, molecular virology, cell culture (cell lines and primary cells), vector/virus production, biochemistry (IP, WB, protein expression and purification), ChIP, transcriptomic analysis, and bioinformatics. Work in BSL2 and BSL3 facilities is included, with partial remote work possible.
Applicants should have a PhD or MD/PhD in virology, genomics, transcriptomics, or biochemistry. A strong background in transcription/chromatin biology, molecular biology, and/or virology is required. Excellent English communication skills and strong organizational and analytical skills are expected. Experience with bioinformatics and/or HIV is an advantage.
This is a 36-month fixed-term postdoctoral contract. The announcement states a November 2026 start date. No deadline is stated in the post.
To apply, send a CV and cover letter. The post does not provide a direct contact email or named application portal; the only link shown is the institute website.
