About this position

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), through its AgroBioSciences Program (AgBS), is recruiting a post-doctoral fellow in Modeling and Crop Yield Prediction in Africa. The project focuses on developing models to estimate and predict yields of targeted crops across Africa, combining agronomy, modeling, biostatistics, geospatial analysis, machine learning, and predictive modelling.

The selected researcher will collect crop production data, work with the project team, develop and implement simulation models using secondary data sources and established on-farm trials, conduct spatial analysis to predict yield at scale, contribute to the broader research goals, supervise master’s and doctoral students, and publish in high-impact journals.

Eligibility highlights: PhD in agronomy, modeling, biostatistics, or a related field; documented knowledge of geospatial analysis, machine learning, and predictive modelling; strong programming skills in R, Python, and other languages; publications in the field; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and strong motivation for scientific work.

Application materials: cover letter stating the position and main research interests, detailed CV, brief research statement, and contact information for two references. Further inquiries may be addressed to Pr. Jemo Martin at [email protected].
