About this position
Postdoctoral position at Pennsylvania State University in the Center for RNA Molecular Biology and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, working in Dr. Paul Babitzke’s research lab.
The project focuses on RNA molecular biology, gene regulation, transcription, and post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms in B. subtilis and E. coli. Research directions include RNA polymerase pausing and termination, transcription attenuation, translational control, structural studies of RNA polymerase using cryo-EM, and genome-wide discovery of RNA-based regulatory mechanisms using RNET-seq, Term-seq, and Structure-seq.
Applicants should have recently earned a Ph.D. in the Life Sciences. Desired experience includes gene regulation, in vitro transcription, RNA biochemistry, protein-RNA interaction, protein-protein interaction, and/or bioinformatics analysis of transcriptomics data.
