About this position
Postdoctoral position in statistics education at the University of Copenhagen, hosted by the Department of Science Education and linked to the Novo Nordisk Foundation Centre for University Science Education (NNF-USE).
The project focuses on university-level statistics education and data science education, especially how students in other sciences learn to use statistical methods in authentic scientific contexts. The postdoc will work on the project Toolbox Courses in Data Science under the leadership of Professor Carl Winsløw and will be part of the research group on Didactics of Mathematics.
Research activities include curriculum analysis, design and experimentation of didactical designs, collecting and analysing data from educational experiments, and publishing in high-quality international journals. The postdoc will also participate in the local research environment and project activities. About 20% of the workload is teaching and dissemination, mainly in courses and projects at the Department of Science Education.
Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a PhD in statistics education or data science education by 1 January 2027, plus a master’s degree in statistics or a closely related field. Documented teaching proficiency in university-level statistics is required, preferably with experience teaching students from other natural sciences. Strong English communication skills are expected; Danish is not required.

Salary and pension follow the Danish academic agreement; the listed starting monthly salary is 39,993 DKK (August 2026 level), with possible supplement depending on qualifications and an additional employer pension contribution of 18.07%.
