About this position
CNRS / Institut des Sciences Moléculaires d'Orsay (ISMO), Université Paris-Saclay, is advertising a postdoctoral position in Physics in Orsay, France.
The project focuses on ultrafast pump-probe studies of solvated molecules in helium droplets, using the laser experimental setup at ISMO and, where needed, additional host laser facilities such as ATTOLab. The postdoc will work on femtosecond dynamics, synchronization of TPX3CAM detection with high-repetition-rate lasers, coincident ion/electron detection, characterization of pump and probe pulses, and pump-probe experiments with the GOUTTELIUM device.
The position is embedded in the DIRAM team, which works on the dynamics of systems using time-resolved experimental and theoretical approaches. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the GOUTTELIUM project leader and contribute to preparing relocation of the experiment to local laser infrastructures.
Eligibility highlights: PhD or equivalent in Physics, 1-4 years of research experience, basic French, and strong skills in nonlinear ultrafast optics, mechanical design, Pymodaq coding, ultra-high vacuum systems, and charged particle detection.
Funding: temporary full-time contract; no stipend amount is stated. The post is not funded through an EU Research Framework Programme.
Deadline: 14 January 2027, 00:00 UTC.
