About this position

CNRS Sciences humaines & sociales and the CERI at Sciences Po Paris are recruiting a two-year postdoctoral researcher on the theme War and Peace.

The position is embedded in the research environment of Sciences Po Centre de recherches internationales (CERI), with supervision by Mathias Delori (CNRS–CERI) and Anna Poujeau (CNRS–IFPO). The project sits at the intersection of political science, international relations, sociology, history, anthropology, law, and philosophy, and invites critical, transdisciplinary research on contemporary conflict, peace processes, militarization, militarism, security, violence, and strategic thought.

The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to a critical state of the art, develop an original research project, and help disseminate results through publications, seminars, conferences, and public-facing discussions. The call also highlights methodological and ethical issues in sensitive fieldwork, including access to sources, researcher independence, data protection, and work in contexts of censorship or repression.

Eligibility: the candidate must hold a PhD awarded less than three years before the start date. The contract begins on 1 January 2027 and runs for 24 months.

Funding: this is a paid postdoctoral employment contract; no stipend amount is stated in the post.

Application: follow the official CERI/CNRS announcement and portal link for full instructions and submission details.
