About this position
Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Cell Biology at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford.
This postdoctoral opening is for a dynamic research group led by Dr Girish Ram Mali. The project focuses on the cell biology of cilia, with a specific aim to functionally dissect the role of DNAAF9 (axonemal dynein assembly factor 9) in ciliary biology.
The research will involve CRISPR genetic engineering in relevant ciliated cell lines to knock out DNAAF9, followed by cytological, proteomic, and other functional characterisations. The role also includes experimental work using omics technologies, advanced microscopy, and bioimaging methods to study dynamic cellular aspects of ciliary biology.
The post is a fixed-term contract for 1 year in the first instance, with a possibility of extension for another year. The department notes that suitable candidates will be mentored and supported to pursue external fellowship funding for career progression.
Applicants must upload a CV and supporting statement through the online application portal. The closing date is 28 August 2026 at 12:00, with interviews held as soon as possible thereafter.
Contact: Sarah Barefield ([email protected]).
