About this position
Texas A&M AgriLife Research is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate in College Station, Texas with the Animal Science department. The position is based in the Dass Microbial Ecology Laboratory and focuses on arthropod molecular ecology, pathogen detection, antimicrobial resistance, and surveillance of ticks, mosquitoes, flies, and mites of veterinary and public health importance.
The postdoc will develop and validate molecular and genomic tools for species identification, pathogen screening, and resistance monitoring. Methods include qPCR, digital PCR, RNA sequencing, amplicon sequencing, metagenomics, nanopore sequencing, and data analysis in R and command-line environments. The work also includes specimen processing, colony maintenance, bioassays, manuscript writing, reporting, mentoring students, and collaboration with field, bioinformatics, modeling, and surveillance partners.
