About this position

Texas A&M AgriLife Research is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Bushland, Texas, United States, working in the Gadhave Laboratory under Dr. Kiran Gadhave at the Crop Stress Lab.

This position focuses on entomology, insect vector biology, plant virology, molecular biology, plant pathology, and vector–pathogen interactions. The postdoc will lead research on plant virus–insect vector interactions across molecular, organismal, and ecological scales, including pathogen acquisition, dissemination, and transmission by arthropod vectors.

Research activities include RNA interference, virus-induced gene silencing, transient expression, protein–protein interaction assays, PCR/RT-PCR/RT-qPCR/qPCR diagnostics, omics-based studies, insect behavioral and fitness assays, and data analysis using statistical and bioinformatic approaches. The role also involves manuscript writing, presentations, mentoring students, and day-to-day project coordination.
