About this position

Queen Mary University of London is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Barts Cancer Institute, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, for a fixed-term full-time appointment of 3.5 years.

The project is funded by ARIA and focuses on epiPRIME (“epigenetically programmed resilience through innate memory engineering”). The successful candidate will conduct laboratory experiments using epigenetic editing approaches engineered in cell lines and primary cells to induce antiviral immunity in human cells in vivo. The role involves close collaboration with computational epigeneticists, immunologists, and chemists.

Applicants should have a PhD or be near completion in a biological subject and bring substantial hands-on experience in molecular biology and biochemistry. Essential experience includes cloning, working with cell lines and primary cells, transfections, RNA work, and (epi)genomics methods such as targeted and WGBS/EM-seq, EPICarrays, CUT&RUN, CUT&Tag, ChIP-seq, or similar techniques, plus NGS library preparation. A first-author publication in epigenetics and a strong publication track record are expected. Experience with R/Python is a significant advantage.

Salary is £39,187 - £52,790 per annum. The post is based in QM London at Queen Mary University of London.
