About this position

Postdoctoral Research Associate opening at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology, working in the Laboratory of Kathleen M. Caron.

The project focuses on G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) interactions with receptor activity modifying proteins (RAMPs), including quantitative genetic variation of Class B GPCRs and RAMPs, receptor mechanisms, novel RAMP-GPCR interacting partners, and characterization of novel/orphan receptors in native cells.

Research methods and interests include biochemistry, pharmacology, GPCR pharmacology, BRET/FRET, receptor signaling assays, protein analysis, and complementary in vitro biochemical and pharmacological approaches.

Applicants should hold a PhD or MD/PhD (or similar degree) and have a publication record in internationally recognized journals. Previous experience in biochemistry and/or pharmacology is preferred, and candidates with GPCR pharmacology, BRET/FRET, receptor signaling assays, and/or protein analysis experience are especially encouraged.

The position is a full-time temporary postdoctoral appointment with an estimated duration of 12 months. UNC postdocs receive benefits and services including medical and vision coverage, paid leave, and professional development support.
