About this position

University of Cambridge is advertising a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Nuclear Quantum Effects in Non-Equilibrium Dynamics, hosted in the Chemistry Department in Cambridge, England, United Kingdom.

The project is centered on quantum dynamics, non-equilibrium nuclear dynamics, imaginary-time path-integral approximations, and molecular dynamics. The successful candidate will develop new methodology for different flavours of non-equilibrium nuclear dynamics, benchmark methods on model systems, and extend the approach to multi-dimensional systems. The work includes implementation in an in-house development code and in a large-scale electronic nuclear dynamics code, with collaboration across theory and experimental groups encouraged.

This is a fixed-term postdoctoral role for 1 year in the first instance. The post is in a lively research environment with sufficient computational resources and support for participation in international conferences.

Applicants should have a PhD or be close to completion, with strong experience in quantum dynamics simulations, molecular dynamics techniques, and imaginary-time path-integral methods. A strong mathematical background and programming expertise are required. The post particularly welcomes candidates with backgrounds in Physics, Chemistry, or Materials Science, especially those with theoretical and computational solid-state physics, physical chemistry, or chemical physics experience.

To apply, submit the requested documents through the online application portal: CV, covering letter, and publications list. Quote reference MA50960. Application queries can be directed to Prof Marian Rossi at [email protected].
