About this position
Washington University in St. Louis (WashU Medicine) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Pathology & Immunology and the Edison Family Center for Genome Sciences & Systems Biology.
The Nagaraja Lab studies epigenetic memory—how cells record past environmental experiences and how those experiences shape future disease risk. Research questions include: what environmental exposures create epigenetic memory, how memory accumulates across a lifetime at the cellular and molecular levels, and whether novel epigenetic diagnostic and therapeutic strategies can measure disease risk and prevent progression.
The lab uses a multidisciplinary toolkit including single-cell multiomics, computational biology, stem-cell biology, cancer biology, mouse models, human tissue profiling, and functional perturbation. Applicants with wet-lab and/or dry-lab experience are encouraged to apply, especially those interested in translational questions at the interface of biology, medical science, and biomedical engineering.
Eligibility: a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent terminal/doctoral degree is required. No specific certification, prior work experience, or driver’s license is required. The position is a full-time postdoctoral appointment; salary is commensurate with experience, and WashU notes a 5-year postdoc term limit including previous experience.
How to apply: submit a brief description of research interests, a CV, and three references via the Workday application link. For general postdoc information, the post links to WashU’s prospective postdoc page and the lab website.
