The Weihs Group at Johns Hopkins University is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on reactive metal powders fabricated via ultrasonic atomization.

This postdoctoral opportunity is centered on powder fabrication and characterization, including particle size, morphology, microstructure, and combustion/oxidation behavior. The project is mainly experimental, with links to AI-based modeling of combustion behavior and collaborations across the Defense Threat Reduction Agency-funded MSEE University Research Alliance and nearby federal research laboratories.

Applicants should have a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field. Strongly relevant experience includes metal powders, materials characterization, electron microscopy, XRD, ignition experiments, and combustion measurements.
