About this position

Ghent University, one of Belgium's leading research institutions, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Coordinator in Clinical Nutrition within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The position is based in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care and focuses on advancing research in clinical and global nutrition, particularly for patients with chronic illnesses. The postdoctoral researcher will manage research projects in clinical nutrition, coordinate ethics submissions, develop research protocols, and provide scientific and administrative support for ongoing clinical studies. Additional responsibilities include assisting with grant applications, manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed journals, and general research administration. The role requires extensive experience in clinical nutrition, project coordination, and multidisciplinary collaboration within a hospital setting.

Applicants must hold a thesis-based PhD in health sciences, preferably in clinical nutrition, nutrition & dietetics, or a related field. Strong scientific writing skills, experience with research administration, and excellent English proficiency are essential. Assets include experience in international or multidisciplinary research teams and teaching or training healthcare professionals.

The position is offered as a 20% employment contract for one year, with the possibility of extension for an additional year, subject to funding. Remuneration follows the PD1 to PD4 salary scale, and staff benefits include training opportunities, generous holiday leave, bicycle allowance, and eco vouchers. The earliest start date is 1 May 2026.
