About this position
University of British Columbia is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Eddy Laboratory, Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine, working on 129Xe magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for pulmonary imaging.
This is an on-site position based at the UBC Centre for Heart Lung Innovation (HLI), St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The successful candidate will develop and optimize rapid pulse sequences for 129Xe MRI, create image reconstruction techniques for novel sequences, contribute to research proposals and publications, present at conferences, and supervise students and technicians. The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including imaging scientists, engineers, MRI technologists, physicians, trainees, and research staff.
Applicants must hold a PhD in engineering, physics, or a related discipline completed within the last 5 years (career gaps considered). Strong experience in MRI pulse sequence development and image reconstruction is required; experience with Siemens MR IDEA SDE/ICE, multi-nuclear methods, Python, MATLAB, and deep learning are assets. A strong publication record with at least one first-author paper is required.
