About this position

Tampere University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 6G and Beyond Wireless Communications for the NOISY research project, a four-year initiative funded by the Research Council of Finland. The project explores a novel idea: using noise as a carrier of information for future wireless systems.

The position is based in the Wireless Systems research group and the Tampere Wireless Research Center at Tampere University. The successful candidate will work on research topics related to wireless communications, 6G, IoT, noise-driven communication, secure and covert communications, energy-efficient signaling, and low-complexity communication methods.

Possible duties include developing new models and methods for noise-driven wireless communication, designing and evaluating low-power signaling schemes, investigating secure/covert approaches based on noise-like signals, running analytical studies and simulations, contributing to proof-of-concept demonstrations with software-defined radio (SDR) platforms, publishing research in journals and conferences, supporting project management, and mentoring doctoral researchers.

This is a research-focused postdoctoral opening, not a PhD or master's call. The post is suited to candidates with a background in wireless communications or closely related fields and experience in analytical research, simulations, and experimental communication platforms. Applications must be submitted in English.

Deadline: 3 August 2026 (EEST / UTC+3).
