Postdoctoral Research Fellow (A) – AI in Computational Biology at Adelaide University in Adelaide, South Australia.
This is a full-time, fixed-term postdoctoral opening for 24 months in the College of Health and the South Australian ImmunoGeNomics Cancer Institute (SAiGENCI). The project sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computational biology, bioinformatics, drug discovery, and cancer therapeutics.
The research aims to develop next-generation biological foundation models using large-scale multimodal datasets, including protein sequences, protein structures, small molecules, and omics data. The work focuses on key cancer discovery problems such as target identification, biomarker discovery, drug response prediction, and the design of novel treatments.
Applicants should have strong research output and hands-on experience in machine learning, deep learning, and programming languages such as Python, Java, or R. The role also values independent and interdisciplinary research ability, strong communication skills, data analysis, problem-solving, and a track record of producing manuscripts and research outputs.
