About this position

University College Dublin is advertising a temporary 24-month Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 position in the School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science, based in the Conway Institute and linked with the FutureNeuro Research Centre.

The project investigates translational disruptions in mouse models of epilepsy. The successful candidate will use pharmacological and transgenic approaches, in vivo mouse models, and molecular-based analyses to study how altered translation contributes to epileptogenesis and seizure disorders. There is also scope to explore and profile novel epitranscriptomic modifications in epilepsy.

Applicants with prior PD1 experience at UCD, those nearing completion of PD1, or those whose total postdoctoral experience would exceed 4 years including this post are not eligible for this role.

The post offers a fixed salary of €47,273 per annum. The closing date is 23 October 2026 at 12:00 noon local Irish time. Applications must be submitted through the vacancy page before the deadline; late applications will not be accepted.
