Postdoctoral Research Opportunity in Carbon Materials, CFRP Composites, and Energy Storage at KFUPM King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in Saudi Arabia

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia is advertising a postdoctoral research opportunity linked to the Center of Refining and Advanced Chemicals (IRC-RAC) and the KFUPM–Saudi Aramco Center for Carbon Materials.

The position focuses on carbon materials and related advanced materials research, including carbon fibers from heavy petroleum fractions, CFRP composites, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), graphitic and porous carbon materials, energy storage materials, and heavy petroleum residue valorization and carbonization.

The post is being recruited by Muhammad Nurunnabi Siddiquee, Assistant Professor at KFUPM. The ideal candidate should hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with research experience in carbon materials, composites, petroleum processing, or energy storage.

Preferred expertise includes mesophase pitch synthesis, carbon fiber processing and melt spinning, CFRP composites, CNT synthesis, carbonization/graphitization, electrochemical characterization, and advanced characterization techniques such as Raman, XRD, SEM/TEM, and BET.
