About this position

Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute, Biodesign Center for Single Molecule Biophysics is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in quantitative biology and biophysics at the Tempe Campus.

The position is designed for creative researchers interested in developing and applying experimental, theoretical, or computational approaches to understand how biological systems function across molecular, cellular, and tissue scales. Research areas include biological imaging and spectroscopy, statistical and Bayesian inference, machine learning for biological discovery, stochastic and multiscale modeling, and quantitative studies of molecular interactions, cellular dynamics, tissue organization, and metabolism.

The successful candidate will work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment and pursue research aligned with their expertise and interests. The post is open to applicants from physics, applied mathematics, statistics, chemistry, engineering, quantitative biology, and related disciplines.

Eligibility highlights: Ph.D. in a relevant field by the time of appointment; strong research experience in biological imaging, quantitative biology, statistical inference, machine learning, or mathematical/computational modeling; proficiency in scientific programming (Python, Julia, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar); and a record of peer-reviewed publications and effective scientific communication.

Application: submit a cover letter, CV, and three references through Interfolio. The initial deadline is November 22, 2026, and applications may continue to be accepted on a rolling basis for a reserve pool until the position is filled.
