About this position

VinUniversity’s Center for Materials Innovation and Technology (CMIT) in Hanoi, Vietnam is recruiting 1–2 Postdoctoral Researchers to join Dr. Minh Canh Vu’s research group.

The project focuses on advanced electrode materials and electrode architectures for next-generation sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) and sodium-metal batteries (SMBs). Research topics include rational design, synthesis, and electrochemical evaluation of nanostructured and compositionally engineered electrode materials, with emphasis on layered transition-metal oxides, polyanionic compounds, high-entropy materials, heterostructured electrodes, defect-engineered materials, and electrode/electrolyte interface engineering.

This is a full-time postdoctoral position with a competitive salary of up to US$40,000/year, plus access to advanced battery materials synthesis, electrode fabrication, electrochemical testing, and structural characterization facilities at VinFast, CMIT, and VinUniversity. The role also offers support for conference travel, publication costs, research activities, and professional development, along with opportunities to collaborate with academic and industrial partners in Vietnam and internationally.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, or a closely related field. Strong experience in rechargeable batteries, electrode materials, electrochemical energy storage, synthesis, cell assembly, and electrochemical testing is expected. Experience with sodium-ion or sodium-metal batteries is strongly preferred.

To apply, send a single PDF containing a cover letter and CV with full publication list to Dr. Minh Canh Vu’s group at CMIT, VinUniversity. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
