About this position
Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) is hiring a Postdoctoral Researcher in AI Education Research within the TU Delft Teaching Academy Initiative on Innovation in Delft Engineering Education (IDEE), project Teaching and Learning in the Age of AI.
The role focuses on how AI is changing teaching, learning, and meaningful student learning in engineering education. The postdoc will investigate how AI guidelines are being integrated into TU Delft courses, how student-AI interactions influence deep or surface learning approaches, and how course design can support constructive alignment in AI-rich teaching environments.
You will work with an existing interdisciplinary team, including a PhD researcher, another postdoctoral researcher, research assistants, an educational advisor, and faculty educators. The work includes engaging with the educational community, compiling results from experiments and initiatives across the university, designing and implementing a classroom study, and producing recommendations for implementing AI guidelines across different disciplinary settings.
Research themes and keywords include AI education, educational science, learning sciences, engineering education, human-computer interaction, student learning, constructive alignment, qualitative and quantitative methods, and interdisciplinary research.
Eligibility: Applicants must hold a PhD in Educational Science, Learning Sciences, Social and Behavioural Sciences, Engineering Education, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. What's required
