About this position
Postdoctoral Researcher opportunity at the University of Florida, Florida Medical Entomology Laboratory (Vero Beach, FL).
The Arthropod Population Ecology and Evolution Lab (PI: Yoosook Lee) is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to work on the characterization of insecticide resistance mutation distribution in Florida. The project sits at the intersection of biology, mosquito biology, vector biology, population genetics, molecular biology, ecology, and bioinformatics, with a strong applied focus on mosquito control and public health.
Successful candidates should hold a PhD in life science or a related discipline and have expertise in at least one relevant area such as mosquito/vector biology, population genetics, molecular biology, or ecology. The postdoc will also mentor trainees, support laboratory management, and liaise with collaborators. Additional extension/teaching opportunities may be available through the Mosquito BEACONS multi-state working group, which offers training opportunities for mosquito control and public health professionals.
Funding: Salary follows NIH guidelines. The postdoc may also be encouraged to pursue local and national funding calls and participate in peer-reviewed collaborations and scientific conferences.
