About this position

Kanazawa University’s Nano Life Science Institute (NanoLSI) is recruiting a full-time postdoctoral researcher for a biophysics-focused project in computational science and multicellular tissue mechanics. The institute is a WPI research center developing world-leading bio-SPM technologies such as AFM and SICM, and this opening sits within an interdisciplinary environment spanning nanometrology, life science, supramolecular chemistry, and computational science.

The successful candidate will contribute to research on the mechanics, morphogenesis, and biomedical engineering of multicellular systems. The lab’s themes include development, evolutionary development, aging, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and other neurodegenerative diseases, with applications to brain, eye, inner ear, and skin biology. The post specifically welcomes researchers with strengths in biological experiments, mechanical measurement and imaging, or mathematical/computational modeling, including simulation, machine learning, statistical analysis, and 3D vertex models.
