About this position

Postdoctoral Researcher in Developmental and Educational Psychology (M/F) at the CNRS, within the Laboratory of Child Development and Education Psychology (LaPsyDÉ, UMR CNRS 8240) in Paris 05, France.

The project focuses on the analysis of administrative data on students, teachers, and schools from the Directorate of Foresight and Performance (DEPP - MENJS) to build a map of educational inequalities and support data valorization. The role involves organizing multiple DEPP databases, writing scripts and data-analysis models (including structural equation modeling), interpreting results, drafting information notes and articles, and presenting findings.

This postdoctoral position is embedded in the PPR “Sciences pour l’Éducation” and the ELISco program, under the scientific leadership of Grégoire Borst and in close interaction with scientific teams, institutional partners, and data-producing services. The laboratory studies cognitive, socio-emotional, and brain mechanisms involved in child and adolescent development and learning, including language, reading, mathematics, reasoning, decision-making, visual categorization, creativity, and information evaluation.

Eligibility highlights: doctorate required; experience with administrative database analysis in education and child/adolescent experimentation in school settings; knowledge of experimental psychology applied to education, educational psychology, cognitive development, education systems, and statistical analysis; strong scientific communication in English.

Funding and conditions: 12-month fixed-term contract, starting salary from €3131 gross/month, full-time, with 44 annual days off/RTT and transport support. The position is based in Paris 05, with some work at DEPP-MENJS in Paris 15th arrondissement. Application deadline: 2026-09-14.

What's required

Doctorate required. Experience with analysis of administrative databases in education in France or abroad is required, as well as experience with child and adolescent experimentation in school settings. Knowledge of experimental psychology applied to education, educational psychology, child cognitive development, education systems and users, and major data analysis models is expected. Skills in scientific problem formulation, building integrated databases, statistical analysis, and scientific communication in English (written and oral) are required. Strong teamwork, adaptability, autonomy, rigor, confidentiality, and public-service mindset are preferred.
