About this position

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Fertilizer Formulation, Plant Nutrition and Agronomic Evaluation for its Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) in Benguerir, Morocco.

This postdoc sits at the intersection of fertilizer science, plant nutrition, soil fertility, agronomic validation, and applied chemistry. The project aims to develop innovative fertilizer products that improve nutrient availability, nutrient-use efficiency, soil fertility, and crop performance under relevant agricultural conditions. The role is highly multidisciplinary and combines formulation work with laboratory characterization, greenhouse experimentation, soil and plant analysis, and agronomic data interpretation.

Responsibilities include developing and optimizing simple and complex fertilizer products; characterizing formulations with physicochemical and analytical tools; evaluating physical quality and chemical composition of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products; conducting laboratory and greenhouse tests; assessing plant growth, biomass, root development, nutrient uptake, and mineral nutrition; and contributing to statistical analysis, reporting, publications, presentations, and patent-related documents. The successful candidate will also participate in collaboration with internal and external partners and help coordinate project tasks.

The position is aimed at applicants with a Ph.D. in Agronomy, Plant Sciences, Soil Science, or a related field, together with strong experience in fertilizer formulation, plant nutrition, soil-plant-fertilizer interactions, and experimental work. Experience with organo-mineral fertilizers, biostimulants, micronutrient formulations, or sustainable crop nutrition strategies is considered an asset. A strong publication record is requested.

UM6P presents itself as an internationally oriented, research-intensive institution focused on innovation, sustainability, and applied science for Morocco and Africa. The CBS department emphasizes green and environmental chemistry, analytical chemistry, and process engineering, providing a strong research environment for this postdoctoral project.

Applications should include a detailed CV and a cover letter with a synthetic presentation of background, research works, projects, activities, publications, and key achievements. The deadline is not specified in the posting.
