About this position
Postdoctoral researcher position in global change biology at the University of Gothenburg, Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences (BioEnv), Sweden.
The project addresses a major question in climate change biology: how and why thermal sensitivity varies across the life cycle, and what this means for animal populations under climate change. This is a fully funded 2-year postdoctoral position funded by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet). The appointment is based at Natrium in Gothenburg, with possible research at Kristineberg marine research station and fieldwork or research visits in Sweden or abroad. Teaching and departmental duties may be included up to 20% of full-time employment.
Eligibility requires a doctoral degree in ecology, evolutionary biology, quantitative biology, or a related field. Strong English communication skills, advanced R/statistical skills, experience publishing research, independence, curiosity, and collaborative leadership are emphasized. Experience in thermal ecology, experimental animal research, field ecology, data management, and open/reproducible science is desirable.
Supervision is by Patrice Pottier, with co-supervision by Prof. Fredrik Jutfelt. The successful applicant will have opportunities to shape the project, join the Thermal Ecology Alliance, and develop skills in experimental design, modelling, scientific writing, communication, and leadership.
