About this position

DTU Physics at the Technical University of Denmark is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher for a project on High-Resolution Quantum Microscopy of Magnetic Fields in Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark.

The project focuses on building next-generation diamond-based quantum microscopes for contactless imaging of ultra-weak magnetic fields in biological tissues and integrated circuits. Research topics include quantum sensing, quantum optics, spin control, photonics, diamond NV centers, magnetic field imaging, and advanced microscopy.

The role is a full-time postdoctoral position for 2 years, funded through Innovation Fund Denmark (IFD) Grand Solutions projects. The work involves collaboration with industrial partners and neuroscience researchers, and the successful candidate will help develop optical systems, coherent quantum control methods, experimental hardware, electronics, and data analysis workflows.

Eligibility requires a PhD or equivalent in Physics, Quantum Science, Photonics, or a closely related field. Applicants should have strong experimental experience in quantum optics or quantum physics, experience building optical setups, coherent control of quantum systems, electronics/hardware control skills, a strong publication record, and good communication and teamwork abilities.

The application deadline is 11 August 2026 at 23:59 CET. Interested candidates should apply via the DTU Career Site job portal using the provided application link.
