The Multiscale Neurodevelopment team is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to study the maturation of cortical architecture, connectivity, and functional dynamics across early life. The project combines computational neuroscience, neuroimaging, machine learning, and cognitive neuroscience to build growth models of human neurodevelopment and predict clinical phenotypes and cognitive maturation.

Research methods include in vivo MRI, EEG, intracranial EEG, diffusion-weighted imaging, functional MRI, structural MRI, post mortem brain samples, and development of MRI analysis toolboxes. The role also involves close collaboration with neuroscientists, computer scientists, and clinicians, plus preparation of high-quality scientific articles.

Eligibility highlights: applicants need a Master’s degree and a PhD in neuroscience or a related field, strong programming skills in Python or Matlab, and a strong interest in human neuroanatomy and cognitive neuroscience. English proficiency at C1 level is required, ideally with a supporting certificate.

Funding and conditions: this is a 2-year fixed-term postdoctoral contract with the goal of permanent employment afterward. Salary is EG 13 TVöD-Bund, with a year-end bonus and capital-forming benefits. Flexible working may be possible after consultation.

What's required
