About this position

French National Institute for Health Research (INSERM) is recruiting a Postdoctoral researcher in neurosciences based in Lyons (Arrondissement), Rhône, France. The role is part of the ANR PROSPERA project, focused on understanding how autistic adults learn the statistical regularities of their environment and how this may relate to core autism symptoms.

The postdoctoral researcher will lead part of the project and conduct EEG research using neural frequency tagging in neurotypical and autistic adults, alongside online behavioral experiments on predictability preference and cognitive flexibility. The EEG study will also be replicated with autistic adults with limited cognitive abilities. The position may involve co-supervising students.

Relevant academic areas include cognitive neuroscience, experimental psychology, autism spectrum disorders, statistical learning, predictive coding, EEG methods, and behavioral experimentation. Strong technical skills in data acquisition and analysis are expected, especially with Presentation, MATLAB, Python, or R, and experience with online platforms such as Gorilla or Prolific is desirable.

Applicants should hold a PhD (or equivalent doctoral-level training) in cognitive neuroscience, experimental psychology, or a related discipline. The post requires fluency in French and English, strong scientific rigor, open science commitment, ethical awareness, and the ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

Salary is listed at 35,268€/year to 59,000€/year gross. The closing date is 2026-10-18. Apply via the Nature Careers application page using the online form and submit your CV and cover message before the deadline.
