Postdoctoral researcher in Psychology / Organizational Psychology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Netherlands)

The ERC Starting Grant project IMPOSTOR: From Impostor Syndrome to Impostor System studies how workplace contexts shape impostorism and how these experiences affect career development. The postdoctoral researcher will lead the first work package, focused on developing and validating a novel state-based conceptualization of impostorism.

This role is based in the Organizational Psychology section at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and involves close collaboration with Dr. Sanne Feenstra. The work includes scale development, psychometrics, experimental research, quantitative data analysis, participant recruitment across multiple countries and occupational groups, publication in international journals, conference presentations, and open science practices such as preregistration and open data.

Eligibility highlights: a PhD in Organizational Psychology, Social Psychology, Work & Organizational Psychology, Management, or a related field; strong quantitative and statistical skills; experience with scale development, psychometrics, and/or experiments; publication potential; excellent English; and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Funding: salaried postdoctoral employment, €3,706–€5,760 gross per month (Scale 10), at least 0.8 FTE, initially for 1 year with a possible 1-year extension.
