About this position

University of Oulu, Faculty of Education and Psychology, Psychology Unit is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Psychology for a fixed-term appointment from 14 Sep 2026 to 31 Dec 2028 (or by agreement).

The Psychology Unit is described as a growing, interdisciplinary environment with links to medicine, computer science, education, speech therapy, biomedical science, and engineering. The post is based in Oulu, Finland.

Eligibility highlights: a doctoral degree in psychology, cognitive science, cognitive neuroscience, or another suitable field completed by the deadline and within the last 10 years; demonstrated expertise through scientific publications; a research plan aligned with the unit’s themes; strong independent research ability; good teaching skills; and fluent written and spoken Finnish and English. Preferred qualifications include success in external funding applications, strong quantitative and programming skills, and teaching/supervision experience in psychology.

Funding/salary: full-time fixed-term employment with a typical salary of EUR 3,700–4,300/month plus a personal performance component of up to 50% of the task-specific salary.
