About this position

University of Turku’s Faculty of Technology, Department of Computing is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum-Secure Federated GenAI for a 2-year fully funded position in Finland. The project sits at the intersection of computer science, cybersecurity, machine learning, federated learning, post-quantum cryptography, and secure MLOps, with a strong emphasis on building autonomous, trustworthy, and resilient cyber defense for federated infrastructures.

The research agenda includes quantum-secure intelligence using lattice-based cryptography (Kyber, Dilithium) and differential privacy, verifiable SecureMLOps with self-healing detection and compliance-as-code, and adversarial validation using digital twin technology in the Adversarial Defence & Validation Lab. The role also involves collaboration with European universities and industrial partners, project implementation and reporting, supervision of students, and participation in teaching and training activities.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Computer Science or a related field, have strong knowledge of machine learning and cybersecurity, a strong publication record, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and good English communication skills. The post is normally for a postdoctoral researcher, though exceptional candidates close to PhD completion may be considered for a Project Researcher role.

Salary for the postdoctoral researcher is stated as approximately 3700–4600 euros/month depending on experience and qualifications. The application deadline is 17 September 2026 at 16:00 (Europe/Helsinki). Apply through the University of Turku recruitment system and include a motivation letter, CV, list of publications, degree certificates, and other relevant supporting documents.
