About this position
Postdoctoral Researcher in single-cell and spatial omics of CNS development and disease at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden.
The Li Research Group studies how the human central nervous system develops, how these programs are disrupted by injury and disease, and how they may be harnessed for regeneration and repair. The project sits at the intersection of neuroscience, medical science, single-cell omics, spatial transcriptomics, multi-omics, and computational biology.
The postdoctoral researcher will analyse single-cell and single-nucleus RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, and related omics datasets from human and rodent CNS development, brain tumors, and organoid models. The role includes integrating large datasets across developmental stages, anatomical regions, experimental models, and disease conditions; identifying cell states and developmental trajectories; and developing computational approaches for data integration, predictive modelling, gene-regulatory analysis, and cell-fate inference.
This is a full-time, fixed-term employment for two years with a possibility of extension. The position is located in Solna. Salary is set individually according to KI collective agreements. No scholarship or stipend is mentioned.
Eligibility requires a PhD or equivalent foreign degree by the time of the employment decision. Strong experience in single-cell or single-nucleus RNA-seq, spatial omics, R and/or Python, and reproducible computational workflows is required. Experience with multi-omics, chromatin accessibility, machine learning, perturbation analysis, CNS development, stem cell biology, brain tumors, or organoid research is considered an advantage.
To apply, prepare the required documents in English or Swedish: PhD certificate, complete CV, publication list, and a one-page summary of current work. Submit the application through the Varbi recruitment system before the deadline.
Application deadline: 2026-10-26.
