About this position

The University of Caen Normandy is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Sociology for a 16-month, full-time appointment based at the CERREV research unit in Caen, France. The position is part of a research programme on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion coordinated by Milena Doytcheva. The successful researcher will contribute to qualitative data collection, analysis, and the dissemination of findings through publications and conference presentations.

The main tasks include conducting and analysing semi-structured interviews with relevant stakeholders, reviewing academic literature and documentary sources, organising and coding qualitative datasets in NVivo, developing preliminary analytical findings, interpreting results, and participating in collaborative scientific and research-network activities. The role is especially suited to researchers with strong qualitative methods training and an interest in social inequalities, discrimination, and public policy.

Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in Sociology and/or Political Sciences. Strong experience in qualitative interviewing and qualitative data analysis is required. Excellent French and good English are expected. Experience related to inequality, discrimination, and public policy will be considered an advantage.
