The role involves designing and performing experiments, collaborating with scientists and engineers at NLR and partner institutions, presenting at conferences, publishing scientific papers, and helping maintain/improve experimental equipment and data analysis tools.

Eligibility highlights: recent PhD graduate within the last three years; hands-on experience with vacuum-based synthesis (reactive sputtering, pulsed laser deposition, or molecular beam epitaxy); characterization experience (x-ray diffraction/scattering, photoluminescence, Raman, transport, electrical characterization); strong background in inorganic thin films and semiconductor materials; and a strong publication and communication record. Preferred skills include cleanroom device fabrication, autonomous/high-throughput experimentation, programming (Python, LabView, C/Igor Pro), statistical analysis, and software development.

Funding: full-time postdoc with annual salary range of $76,600–$126,400 plus benefits. The posting notes a submission window of up to 30 days, which may be extended.
