Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) in Barcelona, Spain, is offering a part-time postdoctoral research position within the Jean Monnet Chair project GLOBALEUTY (“Global Actor EU: The International Relations of the European Union in a Competitive and Fractured World”). The project is funded by the European Commission under reference 101175018.

The position is led by Principal Investigator Elisabeth Johansson-Nogués and is designed for a researcher with a strong background in International Relations, EU foreign policy, and European/international security. The successful candidate will be integrated into IBEI’s international and interdisciplinary research environment and will contribute to teaching support, research assistance, and public dissemination activities linked to the Chair.

Core responsibilities include supporting teaching and research, producing audiovisual content for the GLOBALEUTY website, and helping with outreach activities. This may involve creating thematic podcasts, informative videos, short blog posts, and commentary on EU foreign policy news, as well as participating in events on EU foreign policy and international security. The role is therefore well suited to a postdoctoral researcher interested not only in scholarly work, but also in communication, knowledge transfer, and public engagement.

The contract is 20 hours per week, with an expected start date of 15 October 2026 and an end date of 14 April 2027. Salary is described as equivalent to research assistance positions in the Catalan university system. The position is based at IBEI, Barcelona, a leading inter-university research institute focused on international affairs, political science, public policy, and global challenges.

Applicants must hold a PhD in International Relations or a related field. The post also requires proven teaching and research experience in EU foreign policy and international/international security, excellent communication skills, and strong English and Spanish language abilities, both spoken and written. Experience in academic dissemination and outreach strategies is particularly valued.
