Applications are invited for a full-time, fixed-term Postdoctoral Researcher/Research Associate position in the Translational Medical Device Lab at the University of Galway, Ireland. The lab is based within University Hospital Galway, in the Lambe Translational Research Facility and alongside the HRB Clinical Research Facility, providing direct access to clinical expertise and patient populations. The setting is designed to support translational work that moves from academic research toward commercial application and strengthens Ireland’s medtech ecosystem.

This position is funded by the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation through the Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF). The appointment is available immediately and continues until 30 September 2027. The salary range is €47,273 to €60,250 per annum, subject to project funding limitations, with pro rata arrangements for shorter or part-time contracts. New public sector appointments normally start at the first point of the scale, although placement at a higher point may be considered where prior equivalent experience is accepted and funding permits.
