About this position

University of Florida is recruiting two funded postdoctoral researchers in MEG and multimodal neuroimaging at the UF MEG Laboratory in Gainesville, Florida, United States.

One position focuses on multimodal language mapping in epilepsy, including prediction of language outcomes after epilepsy surgery using MEG, fMRI, diffusion MRI (DWI/DTI), and invasive language mapping such as electrical stimulation mapping (ESM). The second position focuses on multimodal neuroimaging and biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy body disease, and related dementias, integrating MEG, structural MRI, fMRI, diffusion MRI, and PET for biomarker discovery, mechanistic understanding, connectivity/network analysis, and machine-learning/AI approaches.

These are full-time, funded postdoctoral appointments with multi-year support and an expected salary of $60,000–$80,000 annually. The lab offers access to a whole-head MEG system, 3T MRI scanners, PET/CT imaging, clinical neurophysiology resources, patient populations, and UF HiPerGator computing resources.

Eligibility: applicants should hold a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Psychology, or a closely related field, and have demonstrated MEG analysis experience with tools such as FieldTrip, Brainstorm, or MNE-Python. Preferred experience includes fMRI, diffusion MRI, PET, signal processing, computational neuroscience, neuroimaging, and MATLAB/Python.

How to apply: email a current CV and a brief statement of research interests, including which project area is of greatest interest, to Dr. Abbas Babajani at [email protected]. Review begins immediately, and the start date is flexible. Applications close on 2026-12-21.
