About this position
University of Central Florida (UCF), Department of Physics, is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scholar / Postdoctoral Associate in the Computational Materials for Energy Technologies (CoMET) group led by Assistant Professor Duy Le.
The position focuses on computational materials science for energy applications, especially electrocatalysis and battery technologies. The successful candidate will work on modeling solid-solid, liquid-solid, and gas-solid interfaces using DFT, GC-DFT, MD (including AIMD), classical force fields, and machine-learning force fields / MLIP. The role also includes developing machine learning models, analyzing and publishing results, presenting at conferences, collaborating with internal and external teams, mentoring students, and contributing to grant proposals.
Eligibility: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. The Ph.D. must be completed before the appointment starts. Strong experience in heterogeneous catalysis, electrocatalysis, battery technologies, molecular dynamics, machine-learning interatomic potentials, and PyTorch is preferred.
Funding: Full-time fixed-term postdoctoral appointment with an expected salary of $58,000/year. The initial term is one year, with possible renewal depending on performance.
