About this position
Postdoctoral Scholar in Electrochemistry and Battery Technologies at Pennsylvania State University (University Park, Pennsylvania, United States).
Dr. Feifei Shi is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar to join her research team working on advanced battery systems, electrochemical energy storage, materials development, and interface characterization. The role is centered on cutting-edge research in Li-ion batteries, Li metal batteries, beyond Li-ion batteries, critical element extraction, novel electrode materials, electrolytes, and battery architectures.
The successful candidate will design and conduct experiments in electrochemical energy storage systems, use advanced electrochemical techniques such as CV, EIS, GITT, and PITT, and apply materials characterization tools including XRD, SEM, TEM, and XPS. The position also involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and industry partners, as well as publishing high-impact research and presenting at conferences.
Required background includes a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field by the start date. Applicants should have strong experience in electrochemistry, metallurgy, battery materials, or energy storage technologies, plus hands-on battery assembly/testing experience (coin cells, pouch cells), electrochemical methods, materials characterization, data analysis, and scientific writing.
This is a full-time term postdoctoral position funded for one year from the date of hire, with possible renewal depending on funding and performance. Penn State provides a competitive benefits package for full-time employees.
To apply, submit a CV, a detailed statement of research interests and relevant experience, and three professional references through Workday.
