About this position
Postdoctoral Scholar - Barlow lab at the University of California, Davis is open in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics.
The lab studies genome instability, DNA damage, replication stress, and the molecular/genetic mechanisms that maintain genome integrity during DNA replication and cell division. Current and emerging projects include how genome instability interacts with the innate immune response and neurodegeneration, as well as established work on the adaptive immune system using mouse models.
The successful candidate will manage an independent research project, develop new assays, collaborate on multidisciplinary projects, train junior lab members, present at scientific meetings, and help write manuscripts. The lab uses genetics, molecular biology, and next-generation sequencing approaches.
Eligibility: applicants must have a PhD in a relevant discipline. Required background includes cell biology, molecular biology, and genetics, plus excellent oral and written English. Experience in immunology, next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, or computational biology is preferred.
Funding: this is a paid postdoctoral position with a posted salary range of $69,073-$74,281 per year.
