About this position
UCLA’s Brain Tumor Imaging Lab (BTIL) in the Department of Radiological Sciences is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scholar in Neuroimaging. The position is centered on advanced multimodal MRI and neuroimaging biomarker development, with a primary NIH-funded multi-center project spanning UCLA and UCSF and focused on Huntington’s disease. The scholar will also contribute to ongoing research in brain tumor imaging, movement disorders, and epilepsy.
The research includes designing and implementing advanced MRI sequences, reconstruction, and post-processing methods such as QSM, diffusion MRI, resting-state fMRI, and MR spectroscopic imaging. The role also involves developing data-driven disease progression models, analyzing large-scale multimodal datasets, authoring publications, contributing to grant proposals, and mentoring trainees.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in biomedical physics, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, computer science, or a related field. Strong experience in neuroimaging methods or MR physics/sequence programming is preferred, along with proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C++, or R. Experience with clinical or preclinical MRI systems, machine learning, statistical modeling, and patient interaction is desirable.
The position is fully on-site at the UCLA campus in Los Angeles, California. Salary is listed at $72,000–$82,000 depending on prior postdoctoral experience. The application window is open, with a next review date of 2026-08-31 and a final date of 2026-09-30. Applicants should submit the required materials through UCLA Academic Recruit.
